I ran into my friend Leslie the other day. I haven’t seen her for about 12 months, not since the day I’d sat down and explained her Human Design to her. So, I asked Leslie – Did you get anything useful out of that process?

- Oh yes! It was amazing when you told me I’m a Reflector, and I just have to let things flow in my life. It’s really changed things for me.

A few weeks ago I was at a local Body, Mind & Spirit Festival and I got to have a quick chat with Robyn, who I did a reading for about 2 years ago. I asked her – Did you get anything useful out of that process?

Oh yes! It was just amazing when you told me I’m a Generator, and I have to wait for things to come to me. I always knew that, but I never trusted it until I had the reading with you. I’m so much happier in my life now.

Of course, there is so much more to each person’s design than their Type. But knowing your Type is a very important starting point in understanding your design. And it can have a profound effect on your life.

It's important to understand that, even though there are only 4 types, each person's design is unique and the way they experience their type is unique. If your Sacral Centre is defined, you are a Generator. About 70% of the population of the world are Generators. They are designed to wait to see what life offers them, and to respond to those offers. Once a Generator gets this, they can get into the flow of their life and things start making sense.

If you want to see a truly powerful human being at work, you only have to watch a Generator living out their true nature. Think Madonna or Oprah, for example.

Unlike Manifestors, Generators are designed to wait to respond to life. Patience is a great key for Generators. They often push ahead before they’re clear about what they want and this only leads to continual frustration.

If your Sacral Centre is undefined (ie. white) you are one of the other types – a Manifestor, Projector or Reflector.

Reflectors are very special simply because there are so few of them – only about 1% of the population. Reflectors have no defined centres. They have just as many gates coloured in as the rest of us. But not one of those gates meets up with another gate to create a complete channel. And therefore, they have no defined Centres.

Think about it this way – if a defined Centre is a place where you have some control over your life (and you can take my word on this just for the moment ) then imagine how much control Reflectors have over their lives. That’s right, practically none. This is a life where Letting Go is the Holy Grail.

They are designed to be in the flow of life, with nothing certain or fixed in their identity, their emotions, their thoughts. They simply reflect who they are with. You can see how important it is for Reflectors to be in environments that are nurturing for them!

Most people with an undefined Sacral Centre are Projectors. Now Projectors are tricky and complex beings. There is a sort of wisdom in the Projector. They just know they are here for a reason. But most of them don’t have a clue what that reason is, and they’ve been waiting around all their lives for someone to come up to them in the street and say “Hey, I recognise you. You’re a famous blue guitarist / oil painter / formula one driver / etc”. And then the Projector goes .. “Oh yeah, of course. How could I have not figured THAT out!”

Some Projectors do know. I’ve got a friend who’s an artist (painter) who has always known that is what he would do in this life. But he’s in the minority. Most Projectors are stumbling around in the dark trying to find out who they really are, or could be if someone would just step up and explain it all to them.

Projectors are waiting to be recognised. More than any other type, they need to spend time with people who help them to feel accepted, comfortable, and truly seen. When they are with people who recognise them, the natural gifts of Projectors begin to unfold and they can move very rapidly into the path of their destiny. Projectors do have a tendency to struggle for recognition with people who just can’t ‘see’ them, and this is a waste of their genius and life force energy.

And then there are the Manifestors. They always have the Throat Centre defined, which means they can always act. They don’t have to wait around to express or manifest what they want. They are the classic “Just do it” types. And not ”Just Do It when the time’s right”. That’s the Generator. Manifestors can Just Do It any old time they like. And it works for them. Well that’s the theory. Most Manifestors I know struggle with life just as much as the rest of us.

The tricky part for Manifestors is to keep on doing what they do so well. The rest of us love to tell Manifestors that they can’t do it (and we really believe that, because we can’t!) and after a while the Manifestors begin to believe us, doubt their abilities, and stop Manifesting. Which is pretty sad, because WE need them to get out there and Just Do It.

There is a part of the Manifestor that is a lone wolf, because they don’t need to rely on anyone else to do what they want to do. Non-manifestors will unconsciously resist and obstruct Manifestors, creating alienation and anger in the Manifestor. The most important thing for Manifestors to remember, is that if they inform others before they act, the resistance will subside.

There is another Type that I haven’t mentioned – the Manifesting Generator. This is a combination of the Manifestor and the Generator. Although these people can act whenever they want, they have to follow the Generator strategy of waiting to respond to life. In their Manifestor aspect, they have a defined Throat Centre, so they can always express, act or manifest when they want. BUT, if they don’t wait to get themselves headed in the right direction, they are like a spider who doesn’t know what shape her web needs to be. She’ll just end up tangled in her own sticky mess. If you are a Manifesting Generator, do yourself a favour … learn to wait until you are confident of the correctness of your direction.
