Aspects of the Heart

Aspects of the Heart
Share

Let’s focus on our hearts for a moment.  Well really, do we have any choice but to focus on our hearts, given the immense energy rushing in at that level of our being just now?

Earth and Venus

Today the Earth meets Venus, Goddess of the Heavens, in a channel that connects the G Centre to the Throat.  You can see the G Centre – that yellow diamond, sitting in the middle of the chest.  Although the red triangle is known in Human Design as the Heart Centre, it’s clear that the G Centre is the ‘heart’.

I see the G Centre (or Ji Centre) as the collective heart, the place of love in it’s highest form and where we find our connection to our soul geometry, including other aspects of self – guides, angels, etc.

When we are looking at the transits, the Earth activation can feel difficult because it represents the place where we are being challenged to come more fully into our humanity, into our bodies and into our earthly existence.

In Gate 13, the Earth is asking each one of us to look at where we create an enemy out of our differences rather than a friend out of our common ground.   It also asks us to examine who we are spending our time with, are we intent on fighting our own inner conflicts by projecting them out into the world and struggling with the people we project them onto?  We all do this, it’s how we are designed to see our lost aspects of self – we all help each other in this way.  The problem comes when we forget the service those who carry our projections are offering us.  And when we get caught up in shadow boxing and forget to move on and find the people with whom we have a common vision.  These people click with us, and everything suddenly becomes easy.

Venus is in the Gate of Retreat (33).  Venus is the bringer of light, the Morning and Evening Star, and in our standard view of astrology she represents the sum total of the goddess energy.  She symbolizes our emotional processes and the value system that underpins our action (Mars) and our mental processes and communications (Mercury).   This connection with the Earth is happening just prior to an important point in the 584 day Venus Cycle.  On 16th August, Venus will be at her furthest point from the Earth, at her Superior Conjunction, and about to enter her Evening Star period.  For several weeks around this time in her cycle, Venus is not visible from Earth.  When she re-emerges as the Evening Star, Venus has spun on her axis and shows us the face that was previously facing away from the Earth and towards the Sun, in the equivalent of a Venusian Full Moon. The shift is from a sort of adventurous exploration of where our emotions might take us, and into a more introspective process of integrating what we’ve learnt – in this case since the equivalent of the Venus New Moon on 29th October 2010.

The timing is impeccable, as the US today has it’s credit rating downgraded and economic growth and employment levels continue to be deeply worrying.  Remember that the South Node moved into the Gate of Money on 31st July, and this indicates a global shift from existing financial arrangements around the world.  Also, today Nemesis (Goddess of Retribution and Justice for past wrongs) is sitting in the Gate of Correction of Corruption (18) between Saturn (Lord of Karma) and Pluto (hidden power, wealth), and the asteroid Karma is conjunct Jupiter in the Gate of Returning (24).   While it looks as if the people at the bottom of the money “tree” will suffer, my take on the bigger picture is that the massive resources locked up at the top of the “tree” are being released.   Grassroots and community movements and small scale but highly networked self employment are going to lead us into an entirely new type of economic model.

This new economic model will be based on living authentically in the moment, expressing our creativity with others in a natural flow.  The old slavery energy will be a thing of the past, and the earth’s abundance freed up from the prison it is currently being held in.

Ceres, Lilith and the Dark Moon

Can you see the tiny little channel that connects the Heart Centre to the G Centre?  Although no planets are showing up in that channel in the standard chart it’s a pretty busy place just now, with Ceres and Lilith (mean Apogee) transiting there.

The Mean Apogee is also called the Dark Moon, and sometimes the Black Moon, and in the Gate of Shock (51) she is shaking us up again and again so that we will release what we no longer require, and surrender ourselves up to the dark void of creation.  This is a surrender to the Great Mother energy that is available to us always but which we are as a culture incredibly removed from.

Because the Dark Moon is associated with Lilith, there is always the underlying issue of rage, particularly against the patriarchal system and injustice against women and children.  This energy would be strengthened by Nemesis (Goddess of Retribution) in the Gate of Correction.  (I know it is because I’m experiencing it!).

Ceres in the adjoining Gate of Innocence (25) has just gone over the Aries Point on 12th July.  She turned retrograde on 27th July.  If we put these influences together we get a major initiation in the heart chakra, shocking us through external events to surrender the things we have clung too as cultural alternatives to true nourishment and nurturing.  Ceres and the Dark Moon are taking from us the false things that we have become addicted to, reliant upon and emotionally attached to.  It’s a big ask and not an easy journey since the skills required to open our hearts aren’t exactly well known, but as ‘early adopters’ we are putting everything we have learnt into practice and are available where and when we can be of help.

Mars in the Extreme

I’ve been so frustrated not to be able to write to you about Mars in Gate 15 before today.  Like a little kid with a secret I feel like I’ve been jumping up and down crying out ‘now?  can I tell now?’.  It’s not even that Mars in Gate 15 at the G Centre is meeting up with The Great Attractor in Gate 5, but that Hylonome, Pholus and Ixion are there are well – all in Gate 5.

When we’re looking at transiting Mars we are looking at the place where our passion and ability to act is being fine tuned. Or to be more precise, our action is more likely to be based on our own passion, rather than force applied by others.

Remember that Venus is shifting our underlying values, having us all question what we’ve been attracted to, and how we’ve gone about getting what we want.  The Great Attractor draws us into a particular frequency, our passion, our curiosity apparently irresistably drawn in a new direction and once we turn in that direction we have no choice but to follow where it leads.  You can read more about The Great Attractor by going to www.PhilipSedgwick.com and clicking on Galactic Anomalies.

Hylonome and Pholus are both centaurs.  Hylonome threw herself on the javelin that had just killed her warrior husband.  A warrior herself, one aspect is the sacrifice of our warrior woman nature due to the inability to connect with the masculine.  The missing masculine energy in many women renders them passive and reliant, even though they may on the surface appear to be absolutely capable.  Did you ever read The Cinderella Complex?   Hylonome can represent a painfully deep grief caused by loss of something or someone we love, or the wasted chance.  She can also represent a cultural tendency to encourage that we kill off the true warrior spirit in us.

It’s interesting that one meaning for Pholus is something within us that we are not really aware of but that is being called out in the world, something you need to develop in yourself. This is an other wordly kind of energy, not something we consciously choose to develop in ourselves.   Remember The Great Attractor?  This is something new and irresistable that can draw us hither without our understanding how or why.

Ixion is important.  I’ve been wanting to write a page on him. He’s a dwarf planet candidate, orbiting out beyond Pluto with Makemake, Haumea and Quaoar.  Ixion was a descendant of Mars (Ares), and the first human to commit murder.  Ixion represents our original sin, stepping away from the ‘sins of the fathers’ and giving others second chances so that we can discover their true gentle pure innocence.  Mars in Gate 15 represents the chance for us to be humble (15) and open to receiving (5) the budding newness of others, and to be open to the innocence hidden deeply beneath the hard outer shell of the warrior.

For the next 5 days, the Sun is in the Gate of the Army (7).  I’ve noticed that people with strong activations in this gate can have strong associations with soldiering.  I’ll be interested to see if anything shifts in the ongoing Afghanistan saga over the next few days.  The movement is definitely away from Collateral Murder and towards a more human relationship between warrior/soldier and ‘civilians’.

Juno takes off for Jupiter

And I can’t help mention that on the day the Juno Mission takes off to explore Jupiter, the asteroid Juno is conjunct Atlantis (technology and information).  They are both also conjunct the Super Galactic Centre in the G Centre (46), a place where we feel a deep need for the light and warmth of connection.  Juno represents an aspect of Venus, in the sense that it’s one of the so called Asteroid Goddesses.  Another dwarf planet candidate, this time orbiting as part of the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, Juno shows our need to connect romantically, to commit to someone or something that makes us feel whole.

Atlantis can bring a feeling of doom, in this case in relationship – that we can never have a good relationship, that we will always suffer infidelity, lack of commitment, abuses of trust and that we are being punished by our failure to be able to have that relationship we crave.  I can see a very strong connection here with the Ceres issue of a new cycle of nurturing.  We are learning to let go of our need to contain, to own, to hoard (as in money/abundance of anything) and to trust in love.

Mercury retrograde in Gate 59, part of the channel in the HD chart that is most indicative of sexual relationships is also creating relationship dramas as our ego’s dissolve and allow us to connect more intimately.

As for Juno’s trip to Jupiter, the planet of expansion is a worthy journey for Juno and our new relationship to ourselves and each other, whether it be financial or romantic. Venus rules both and in some ways they are simply reflections of each other.
