If you’ve heard the phrase “Genius to Freak” while exploring Human Design it’s likely you’ve got the Channel of Structuring defined. That’s the 43/23 central channel connecting the Ajna to the Throat.
Why is it news today?

Mercury has just popped into Gate 43 and Sedna is in Gate 23. (You can’t see Sedna, she’s one of the unmentionables in conventional HD and so doesn’t show up on the chart)
Together they’re creating a new structure. And the genius to freak bit? This channel is highly mutative, challenging to the point of being confronting. Unless the energy is invited in it’s seen as freakish and can’t be put to any positive use. When it’s invited in it’s totally 100% useable .. the freak becomes a genius. It’s all in the timing, waiting for the invitation.
One thing you’ll notice is the increase in psychic ability, tuning into guidance and the thoughts of others. Gate 43 is the gate of the ‘inner ear’.
One of Mercury’s functions is to bring things up to the surface of consciousness, opening the mind to new possibilities, stimulating our ability to learn. Learning here means listening into our collective heart and our intuition.
Haumea is sitting in Gate 57 but doesn’t show up in the chart. When we add her in to the picture, the Spleen Centre is activated and connected.
I see the energy of this transit as moving up from the Spleen Centre (wellbeing and survival of the species) and G Centre (collective heart) into the mind. If we misuse it we will allow the conditioned mind to override the heart/intuition. And that’s not what this is about.
Mercury is in the Gate of Breakthrough after a long accumulation of tension, as a swollen river breaks through it’s dikes or in the manner of a cloudburst. A time when ‘inferior’ people begin to drop away out of your life. (In the I Ching inferior people are those who aren’t right for you, there’s no judgement there)
It’s not time to drop your bundle and rush forward. That would put you right back in the ‘inferior people’ camp. The beginning is especially difficult and we must venture forward only as far as we can go with certainty of success. In other words, don’t push out beyond what feels good. Anxiety and fear are not motivators we can rest on anymore.
And Sedna? She’s doing a long stint in Gate 23, splitting our world apart so that we can find our own unique insight. This gate is about diversity, tolerance, acceptance. Because that is the only place where mutative individuality (what this channel is all about) can survive. If we’re so caught up in the rules that we can’t allow in anything new, the mutations that arise from individual genius will never find a place.
Look particularly for Sedna’s issues of global warming and rising sea levels to be on the agenda this week, as well as anything to do with the ocean, including fish stocks and food security, and anything to do with the arctic.
I should also mention the symbolism of the Arctic, which is the frozen emotions of the feminine, alignment of personal electro-magnetic energies, and the release of the undiluted light body that allows pure light energy to flood our cells.
This channel will also create connections, both inner and outer, in this dimension and beyond, that allow us to move beyond the rules. And by “beyond” I mean waaaaay past them. Those who rely on rules are beginning their journey to irrelavance, as our own personal power aligns more strongly and powerfully with the universal divine.
