found this very enlightening, as I mentioned to my spouse, gosh I've been having flashbacks of random childhood memories, curiously observing them, sometimes only feeling them without consciously connecting with them. Also,
my 23 year old Son is having some pretty potent issues with me (I'm also cancerian) and there is definitely a power struggle on his part. So, thanks for the insight.

i got what you were trying to share kim...
and i agree it may be difficult to explain... but only through words.
it would be easier to understand if we start looking at our lives and living through the lens of this aspect of a truth...

i can see in my life, the truth of what you are saying.

Biren my current vision on that is the unexpressed anger of the infant at not being able to control the mother, and that anger continues to play out in the adult male. It's a masculine thing because the relationship between infant girl and mother is extremely different to the relationship between infant boy and mother. For him the mother is other, something that can be taken from him, that he can be without. For her, the mother is more like a role model, something she has within her that she can bring out of herself and become.

It's an incredibly complex subject and anything I write about it is almost too simplistic, but it is definitely a relationship issue that we will see more of as men begin to bring it to consciousness in greater numbers.

"This masculine wound is, I believe, the engine room of the excesses of the patriarchy, and as it comes to light the world will change quite quickly and easily."

what is this masculine wound, kim?

YAY!! Love this even though I'm reading it a few days late it's still relevant as context for my experiences. Also, thank you for authentically calling-out the naming shenanigans regarding the Heart/Ego Center ;)

Dearest Kim - what a wonderful messenger of hope you are! I know I once likened you to the guy in the 'crows nest' up the rigging of some tall ship that is questing the seas towards a new world - watching the stars and the sea and letting us know when land or rocks are ahead; but today this feels like crystalline messages from a war correspondent whose words come back to those of us in 'blighty' trying to make sense of the confusions of change or loss, and you tell us that there are wonderful things going on on the front line - miracles of reconciliation between age old adversaries. Thank you for these clear, heartfelt and soul-guided words they really help! When the light of conscious awareness penetrates the darkness of our deeply conditioned sleep-state with the quality of warm, spacious love and a grounded responsibility for individual and collective well being ...(such is the effect of your work)...we may have the chance to wake up to the truth of our Being.
With love.
