What We Do Now
We find ourselves in interesting times, coming to grips with unprecedented challenges.
They are, of course, only unprecedented for comfortable white people like me who have till now been untouched by these forces . For others, this is karma catching up with those who lived blissfully unaware of their own good fortune and the well from which it flowed.
That I am even writing about unenlightened entitlement is part of the story.
We are at the end of times, if times are unfettered colonialism and extractive western economies. They propped up a whole lot of what we think of as ‘normal life’. Where we stand now, looking into the future, it’s likely that this ‘normal life’ will tumble, along with the ideologies that birthed them. This is part of Ra’s 2027 prophecy, but it doesn’t have to mean we are going to crash and burn, live in caves and be forced to eat the rich (although … 🤔).
I know a lot of you are devastated that Trump won the election this week. I also know that some of you are big fans who see the destruction of a genocide-blind, corporatist government as a good thing. So much of what seemed a given is now up for question, including our understanding of what it means to be human.
This is not a time for certainty. Our addiction to certainty is coupled to our need for top-down leadership. This is a time for active conscious participation in the uncertainty. Yes, it is dangerous. It always has been. Certainty and safety have always been an illusion.

The central issue from where I stand is this. How do we do change (even big global complex change) in a way that isn’t cruel, unnecessarily hateful and destructive. If we choose to take responsibility for change, what values do we stand for?
And even amidst that important question is another idea that is at least as significant -how do we support diversity, rather than fight the (supposed) opposition?
There’s a (perhaps unexpected) link to the Law of Attraction here. Rather than pinning our hopes and dreams on a lottery win and a Maserati, we can be present right now, grateful for what each moment is gifting us. How can we, as unique individuals, recognise those gifts and apply ourselves to transforming them into something that is, in turn, our gift to the world.
In the same way, how can we see the good fortune of living in a democracy, working each day to transform it into a diverse, healthy and equitable society, which in turn allows us to do even more good.
In his book, On Tyranny, Timothy Snyder describes the way autocrats create glorious mythological worlds that, like infinity, can never be reached or realised. This is also known as ‘love bombing’. It gets people hooked into the journey. At the same time, autocrats create the myth of evils ‘out there’ and turn the attention of followers inward. That inward focus is not self-reflective, but fearful and isolated, too afraid to open to ideas that confront and create fresh new perspectives.
Being open to new ideas is what we have to be right now. There are two forces at play. The first is to be anchored into alliances that support, sustain and inspire you to action. The second is to outreach to people who may previously not have seemed to fall within the idea of ‘people like you’.

I have a profound belief that human nature is not evil, that people are not evil (although there are clearly a few who are, but only a few). The very idea of good and evil is a product of the religions that have propagated the west over the past 5,000 years. Each one of us has breathed this in with every breath.
It is the resulting culture that is evil, not the people who live within it. And so, through all of this, I see a deeper theme – of releasing ourselves from a belief in good and evil. That doesn’t mean we see everything as good, but that we recognise danger without ‘demonising’ it. This allows us to take engaged action with like-minded others to confront that danger, in practical ways. Resentment and enmity might look like truth, but is really a form of self-indulgence.
It is time to re-frame the story of humanity. And we can only do that when we are working with our allies and anchoried in our communities.
We are in the process of transforming the very nature of how we connect with each other, how we create culture together, how we govern. What we are in the process of losing is gone. It was not meant to live beyond this point in time. Now we get to come together and use our imaginations to create a new world.
What I’ve Been Doing Lately

I’ve not been writing for a while, because I’ve been honing my idea of what I want to do with my life these days. I’ve been doing a bit of travelling. I also created the Love Your Design Community, and have been blessed to have people who meet me, and also challenge me.
And now, in this particular moment, I’m stopping again to ask myself – what now? What’s my best contribution as we move through the chaos and complexity of the next few years? I expect a lot of you are asking yourselves a similar question.
My favourite part (okay, one of my favourite parts!) of the Community is creating my weekly Human Design transit report. Each week I create a 45’ish minute video with all the weekly transits, and updates on the deeper underlying themes – the Weekly Wrap. I look at the most active dwarf planets, asteroids and galactic points, and share my take on how the active gate energies are playing out.
Soon you will be able to get access to those weekly updates. I’ll let you know when that’s ready to go.
My Take on the HD Transits
This week in the Weekly Wrap I talked about the through-lines from the US election, and how Mars in Gate 56 is calling us to expand our sense of home. It’s an awkward transitional moment. Mars is opposite Pluto, and will continue to make this contact right through the Mars retrograde and its shadow period, so up till January 2025. I’ve seen some people talk about violence, and Mars opposite Pluto can indicate that, but what we saw this week was not so much physical violence as a sense of trauma to our will, a shock to our sense of identity.
The central idea of the Mars opposite Pluto journey in 2024-25 is that we have taken our ‘home’ and the people we share it with for granted, wanting more and more without recognising the blessing of what we already have.
When Chiron goes back into Gate 42, Increase, in March 2025, we will be more conscious of our blind spots (a paradox, but there you are!) about what life offers us, in her generosity, each day.
We are rebuilding a world that was all about the surface of things, materialism, consumerism. Now we can begin to take responsibility for the intangible things that lie beneath that world.
Great to see your blog again, Kim. Feeling your passion about the times, and having been a co-walker following your guidance, I do want to share one perspective I have absorbed over my years.
Maybe it’s my Eastern upbringing, but I find it difficult to see a person as just evil or good. Most of us are caught up in our conditioning, live at fear frequencies. So, collective transformation is difficult to see unless the influence is so strong as to raise the frequencies of collective together in a substantial way. So, that’s really upto the Universe and its transits (in a manner of speaking).
In the meantime, what can we do as individuals ? We do have that choice & your guidance has been very accurate to me, from that lens. So, events happen and universe has its own ways of bringing about collective changes. What we can do is role model – especially, when we have the privilege of vision through whatever tools.
(So, Trump win is not too surprising – what would one do in an increasingly polarized and turbulent world – turn to a father figure. But, when we have a sight to make individual self-empowered difference, we continue on that path, irrespective, becoming a role model ) 🙏🙏
Sanjay you sum it all up so succinctly! Especially the bit about turning to the father. There is a way of looking at things – that the Democrats or progressives are the maternal party, the Republicans / conservatives are the paternal party. That’s a bit oversimplified, but it reflects the duality we live in, where it is difficult to find agreement.
Thank you Kim ,
Always interesting to read your perspective and Thankyou for taking the time to share it…I personally appreciate that you do so. 🙌
I’m happy to contribute to the discussion Maggi 💜
Nice to see you back, Kim 🌹
Thanks Barbra 😍
I agree—so good to see you in your blog, so to speak, again, thanks Kim! I’ve gotten insight to move forward and keep on keeping on with what I do as far as my inner processes to transform myself into the person I know I am one of integrity and generosity and creative and loving and compassionate. I spread those practices out into the world the best I can, and that includes people I don’t necessarily like. At this time, I see this moment as an opportunity to even delve deeper and wider with my processes and up level my practice, and I that IS what this election result has triggered in me. I have never believed in evil. I only see people that others consider evil as having pain bodies and some have larger pain bodies than others. I see those people with pain bodies are activated by fear and so they tend to activate the fear in those around them. I choose a different path… Thank You, Kim!
Hi Lucy, the way I see it is that we’re all sharing the same planet 🌍 and we all have our humanity in common. What I see out there has to exist also in me somewhere, so I am always noticing how it shows up in me. And yes, similar to you, I am more and more paying attention to the good, to what I have to contribute to that good, but not in a ‘bubble’ kind of way. It’s been helpful in honing my sense of what that is, for sure, so that’s something 😂. Happy to be back here, sharing with you.
Great to hear from you again, Kim!!
Always appreciate your insights!!
Greetings from Greece. 🙂 🌹
Hello beautiful Greece, and wonderful Ioanna!
I feel compelled to add and it is my understanding that all the world is in a process of old, no longer beneficial systems breaking down. It’s like the tower card falling apart, so that the new and better can rebuild, grow and expand. Specifically, governments all around the world are falling apart and this is a huge part of that process—happening right now.
So much Lucy!
And when they fall apart some shadow aspects of that old fill in the gap for a while. In Gate 36 (where Neptune is now) the I Ching says that the dark runs out of fuel and burns itself out. I feel like we are in that time.
(And there are different ways to look at the dark, this is the cruelty, control, evil version I’m talking about)
Nice to see you back and thank you for bringing more clarity to this destabilizing time 🌈
Hey Christine,
It’s so destabilising! I’ve mostly just been quietly reading some very wise books!
So great to see you back, Kim! I have really missed your regular blog posts and insights.
I listened to a podcast from Aaron Abke the other day, and one of his comments really resonated with me. He showed a clip of Alex Jones ranting about something, then Abke commented about how much passion Alex Jones displayed. Abke then said as long as people have more passion for power and control than people have for unity, we will continue to experience division. That’s a profound concept to contemplate!
Hi Sheri! Yes a very good point. A passion for power and control, I wonder what would be fuelling that? It would have to be fear?
I’m reading a wonderful book just now called Treading Lightly, by Karl-Erik Sveiby (a Swedish academic who specialises in Knowledge Theory) and Tex Skuthorpe (an Australian Nhunggabarra elder). They were talking about the borders between ‘countries’, or different ‘tribal groups of Aboriginal people, and how anyone could move between countries. There were protocols for moving across borders into someone else’s country, but there was no concept of the borders being barriers in anyway. The very idea of preventing someone from moving as they chose just didn’t exist. I found that fascinating. We tend to think of ‘tribal’ energy as being anti-individual, and yet it can be so affirming of the expression of an individual if it’s done right. Without the power and control!!
“we have taken our ‘home’ and the people we share it with for granted, wanting more and more without recognising the blessing of what we already have.”
the shadow we don’t see here (not individually but as humanity as a singularity) – that’s what shadows are😊 – is that the other side of seeing-feeling the blessings is, either wanting more or taking it for granted.
the gift under the demonic mask of the shadow we don’t recognise… is… that we have to see and BE the blessings – to Earth, to Life.
going the road of feeling grateful or feeling blessed… makes Life/Earth a provider and us a consumer.
We are birthed as, and to, be a part and participant in/of/AS… the forest. creationals that make Earth/Life a creator.
forgot this piece-portion:
the seemingly “high vibrational” energy of gratitude (or feeling blessed) maybe actually working… but it takes us so high that we float AWAY from Earth (and this Life)😊.
on a serious note, i have seen so, so many people… earth lovers, nature lovers… swear by, ‘surrender’ to the exquisite energies of the forest… even “adopt” it as “home” (shifting from city life)… all that, obviously, we see as true connection with nature. But their “consumerism” – of nature, for their own personal peace, higher living or even enlightenment – just becomes a shadow that the light hides. It is worst than a business cutting trees for his benefit. This kind of hidden consumerism… of earth and earth energies is rampant. because the bright lights of higher living blinds us.
(sorry for my shadow – frustration? helplessness? even resentment? – that ‘leaked out sideways’ here 😊)
Biren I’m so glad you pointed this out – about being in relationship with rather than consuming. Consumers “consume”.
I said this: How can we, as unique individuals, recognise those gifts and apply ourselves to transforming them into something that is, in turn, our gift to the world.
We live in a participatory universe. It lives through our participation with it. Which means we engage WITH it, in partnership with life. It’s such an important difference!!
Wow it’s so good to see you’ve been travelling and reading. Not unwell. I missed your posts so much Kim. And of course they are so startlingly relevant and brim with wisdom.
Thanks Bronny,
I’m glad to be back here. I need time away to reset – my mutations happen then 😍.
I keep coming back to this. You have a wonderful way of pointing out the hidden path through the cracks when it feels like everything is closing in. Thank you, Kim. I am excited and grateful to get you hear more updates from you in the future. (I had wondered repeatedly if it would be possible to do something like that through Patreon or similar, and I am thrilled that you and your team were already thinking through ideas!) Thank you for offering your wisdom to the world. ♥️
Hi Kathryn, it’s funny, I come back to these posts as well. I forget what I’ve written and then I’m like .. ah yes, of course! 😂. I am planning something that will make my ‘pathways’ available outside of the Love Your Design Community where I am publishing my weekly updates now. Thanks for your comment, appreciated. 💜
