March Full Moon – gently does it
Today’s Full Moon is an emotional event, not least because Neptune is bringing up our family patterns. All the places where your spiritual self, your galactic sensitivities, your bright light and your gentle heart have been wounded and hidden away .. all those places are coming free of the darkness.
For many people it’s difficult to know how to live in a world that can feel so harsh. This Full Moon simply tells us that we can take good care of ourselves and wait until the time is right to share our light in a more conducive environment. We enter into our own deep dark belly to find what we need to soothe and nurture and allow others to do the same. When each one of us cares for ourselves in this way, the harshness won’t last too long for anyone.
The Full Moon is happening in an astrological square to the Galactic Centre, where we find the beautiful asteroid Chariklo transiting. She represents our capacity to hold a space for ourselves and others to leave hurtful situations. She is a profoundly gently spiritual and emotional healer. The Galactic Centre also operates a bit like a psychic vacuum cleaner that clears out all the gunk. And remember, from my last post, that we have Askalaphus in Gate 40 (sitting between Uranus and Neptune) to help us release old outworn belief patterns that keep us in a sort of post traumatic limbo land.
There’s a peacefulness in this Full Moon that comes from letting go of the striving to be something different from what you truly are. Your authenticity is all that’s required.

People sometimes ask me if the gates ever shift in their design. The answer to that question is no …. and yes!
Your standard chart remains unchanged throughout your life. In some ways, that doesn’t make sense, because you know there is constant change in your life. Things are always moving, there are always new challenges and opportunities.

Askalaphus- I am intrigued by “his” story and what his placement may symbolically mean in my chart. He was Haides’ (PLuto) underworld orchard tender (I never thought of orchards in the underworld- but why not ??). OK that’s no big deal BUT he was the one who “snitched” on Persephone (for eating the pomegrante seed- thereby effectively sealing her fate as Queen of the Underworld- consort of Pluto -6mos of the year. Demeter/Ceres btw was REALLY pissed off with A. as Persephone’s “indulgence” could have been kept secret had Askalaphus not “told the truth”. What I am finding so cool about all this is – my design Pluto and my p. uranus (deep unconscious transformation (pluto) and sudden change/shift are both in Gate 40 where Askalaphus currently is transiting…. and as I identify so profoundly with Persephone (in her powerful underworld queen role- these days)- I am realizing that sometimes (or perhaps more often than not)-the very “thing” or energy that we would think hinders us- is in fact the energy that ultimately liberates us. Persephone ate the seed knowing on some level it would bind her to Lord Pluto. Persephone was “freed” by her own act of defiance (owning her shadows and MAGIC). But sometimes we also need to be “called out” to truly claim (break free from out moded beliefs-“masks”/roles) our NEW self. Demeter/Ceres wasn’t going to let her go without a fight and if all aspects of this myth are aspects of our own psyche then Askalaphus -our inner underworld gardener “-calls us out” when we need to move forward into our power- rather than back into outworn or unconsciously inherited “self-care” (Ceres) patterns. Now what’s really mind blowing for me right now is that my natal Askalaphus is in gate 53.6- EXACTLY conjunct my design (unconscious) NOrth Node !!! wow- I’m not quite sure what that all means- but it IS very important 🙂 !!!
Carolyn! You are a wonder of the world. Thank you for sharing this. It’s interesting if we think about what I wrote on the Love Your Design fb page yesterday – We can also find the asteroid for healing belief systems, Askalaphus, in Gate 40 (this is not an emergency, but an opportunity for release from a problem). Right now we may feel that we are being called out or exposed for our bad behaviour or faults (by the community’s rules and expectations) and in some way we are experiencing this as an emergency but the energy of Gate 40 says .. not it’s fine, just deal with it and go have a nice cup of tea. Everything is exactly how it needs to be and you are even more amazing than you were yesterday!
OMG- can I just say that I had this EXACT experience this morning ! I had responded to a FB comment in a posting of a “friend”- whom I’ve actually never met. I know she and I are on very opposite political spectrums and I mentioned that sometime back (as if- hmm maybe I shouldn’t comment on your threads). And she was like- no, carolyn I love hearing all different positions and views……so, after reading through a very difficult (for me) argument blasting the “poor” for their laziness= etc etc. I couldn’t contain myself and wrote away. But I was careful (so I thought) to agree with another person’s opinions -and then added a bit of my own. At which point a real friend of mine (she is one who suggested the other FB friending) proceeded to “call me out” (or so it felt) . I woke up this morning dreading the responses- and sure even I felt “called out” and it was so scary for me. I was “called out” for all of my most radical/spiritual notions. I can only imagine what great courage it took (and continues to take) to stand out and up for something you truly believe in- (like equality for all- on all levels)….ok. carolyn breathe and reboot….
oh- and ps. note to my PROJECTOR self- wait for the invitation – truly in this instance if I had been personally asked my opinion it would have gone much better for me. Lesson learned. I’m on the Chiron Atlantis thing- btw- xoxox
How does the calling out process gel with the projector thing? I mean .. there was passion there and would you feel like a balloon about to burst if you held that in all the time? And if we are following the Askalaphus idea – what good came from it in terms of you touching on your Queen of the Underworld self?
